SPINNER offers a large portfolio of 2.2-5 high-frequency components
As one of the developers of the 2.2-5 standard, SPINNER offers many other products in the 2.2-5 portfolio in addition to connectors: adapters, prefabricated coaxial cables (jumper), combining units, filters, splitters, tapers, directional coupler, loads, attenuators, and much more. In this way, in-building projects can be equipped with components consistently harmonized with each other.
In 2.2-5, the design of 4.3-10 has been applied to a smaller version. This miniaturization trend will definitely continue: work to develop the next-smaller version has already begun to enable even greater packing densities and higher frequencies. One thing is sure: mobile communications will evolve further, and new technologies and increasing frequencies call for ever-smaller connector systems.
The 2.2-5 interface is the perfect fit for small cells/Distributed Antenna Systems
The 2.2-5 interface is the perfect fit for small cells/Distributed Antenna Systems and was designed to meet the latest requirements in terms of size, robustness, performance, and other parameters in high performance radio frequency transmission. Its small footprint supports the use of smaller components, mitigates risks if equipment is assembled without due care, and delivers outstanding electrical performance.
2.2-5 is only half as large as 4.3-10. However its IM is an excellent -166 dBc, independently of the tightening torque. Thanks to its smaller dimensions, the 2.2-5 connector system is suitable for frequencies up to 20 GHz while still being able to transfer more than 200 watts of power.
Compared to the 4.3-10 system, the width of its flange has been reduced from 25.4 to 17.5 mm, which slashes its area by 53%. This interface’s compact design makes it ideal for use in leading-edge antennas, remote radio units, MIMO, small cells and other applications that call for superb electrical properties in a minimum of space.
SPINNER 2.2-5 connectors are available for many common cable types, for example, air dielectric cable, LF and SF corrugated cables, radiating cables, coaxial rigid lines, rectangular or elliptical waveguides. SPINNER adapters are available for many common rf series, for example 7-16, 4.3-10, N, NEX10, 3,5 mm. SPINNER 2.2-5 interfaces are generally available with three different locking mechanisms: screw, hand-screw and push-pull.
