Contact Shims to optimize your Rigid Line and Waveguide systems

SPINNER is offering a wide range of coaxial rigid lines and waveguides, mostly with a square, round or elliptical cross-section.

Technology applications using high power load changes within short periods can lead to thermal effects like expansion, shrinkage and torsion between connected flanges. Therefore the RF-connections are losing their optimal performance due to smallest air gaps and the signal quality of the whole system degrades. To compensate these unwanted effects SPINNER supplies contact shims for several line types, ranging from R320 (WR28) to R40 (WR229) for PBR, UBR, PDR, and UDR made of copper beryllium.

Especially in high power research applications it is recommended to use contact shims for the most reliable and best possible RF performance regarding VSWR and low insertion loss.
